Shelford Jams and Juices was established in 1993 when Collondale Cannery saw an opportunity in the market.  Under the wings of Collondale the marketing/sales of Shelford products began through a Factory Shop and over the years the business grew and as a result Shelford products are now distributed nationally. 

Collondale Cannery together with Summerpride Foods were both pineapple processing facilities, processing between the two factory over 120 000 tons of pineapples sourced and supplied from growers throughout the Eastern Cape.  Due to the volatility of the exchange rate and as the South Africa Pineapple Industry being only 6% of the World market supply it was as of the 01st August 2007, that Summerpride and Collondale Cannery merged, production at Collondale ceased as of the 31st December 2007 and as of the 2008 season all fruit was processed through the Summerpride plant. With this merger Summerpride Foods then become the home for the Jams and Juices factory (which was a subsidiary Company to Collondale).  Up and until 2010 our product has been supplied locally in South Africa, with the plan for 2013 to endeavour to enter the African market.

Shelford Jams and Juice’s products range from six variants of Jam being packed in 600g / 1.2kgs / 3 kg tubs to a 25kg bucket, to a range of twelve variants of Drinks packed in 2l and 5l poly-oak bottles.  We are proud to advise that the factory is BRC accredited together with the following certifications Kosher / Halaal.
